  • New MAN Trucks for Delivered Reading

    Our three new MAN TGX trucks are state-of-the-art, offering more reliability, efficiency and driver comfort for this hardworking fleet. Based at Delivered's Reading depot in Woodley, our articulated 44-ton vehicles make daily roundtrips to TPN's midlands pallet hub, as well as dedicated haulage runs both locally and nationwide. The quality of our fleet is a major factor underpinning our business, so we have a rolling programme of upgrades and renewals to keep us at the cutting edge, and we make sure that our vehicles are both innovative and robust. The MAN TGX has recently been hailed as International Truck of the Year 2021.

  • Glen Roberts Appointed Delivered MD

    We are delighted to announce that Glen Roberts has been appointed Managing Director of the Delivered Group and welcome him to the management team alongside Sales Director Adam Barber.

    Of course, Glen is already well known to our Portsmouth customers after 6 years with Delivered - firstly as as our Depot Manager and then since 2017 as our APC Operations Director. Glen’s extensive experience of the logistics sector began after he returned from a three year travelling break following earlier management roles, and took a delivery driver job which he thought might last 6 months! 25 years later Glen has in-depth working knowledge of all areas of logistics operations and his career includes roles in large corporates as well as smaller concerns across the sector. He tells us: “I really like the business values of Delivered as a family owned company, caring about customers and their parcels, and our staff. It’s extremely important that these are key to everything that we do.”

  • Coronavirus: Services operating normally with new delivery safety procedures

    As we are all aware, our daily lives are being changed by the current Coronavirus situation. Delivered and APC Overnight are taking all precautions while working to continue to provide a good service and look after the welfare of our staff. Taking into account advice from the Government and PHE our revised procedures for deliveries which require a signature are as follows:

    Deliveries to business premises

    • Ask where the customer would like the parcel to be placed maintaining a 2-metre distance from business staff wherever possible
    • Explain that because we are taking extra precautions over Coronavirus, we do not require a signature
    • Ask the recipient’s name and enter into the surname field
    • Enter CV into the signature field

    For deliveries to residential addresses

    • Place parcel on doorstep
    • Knock on door
    • Step back two metres
    • Explain to occupant that due to extra precautions over Coronavirus we will not requiring a signature
    • Ask their name and enter into the surname field
    • Enter CV into signature field

    These procedures are designed for the benefit of both the delivery driver and the consignee.

    All services are operating as usual – though please allow extra time for international consignments – except for the APC Overnight pre-9am service which has been temporarily suspended in order to ease some pressure on the Network and drivers. All other timed delivery options remain available.

    APC Overnight Alterations

    Most APC Overnight services are operating as usual but please note these suspensions/alterations:
    • Pre-9am service suspended (all other timed delivery options remain available)
    • No customer collection from depots
    • Contact Delivered before booking consignments of live fish
    • PURs are for next day collection only, no same day collections

    Important! With many businesses closing as “non essential” we are seeing more goods which cannot be delivered and will be returned to sender. Please ensure that your customers are available to receive the goods as additional costs may be incurred for returned items.

    Dear Customer

    Although many businesses have been forced to close their doors for now, we are remaining open to play our part in the UK supply chain which is essential for the movement of medical resources, equipment and food to those most at need. This vital supply chain enables most of the UK population to stay at home.

    As a company we are working tirelessly to overcome the unique challenges brought on by this exceptional situation for our colleagues, customers and suppliers, but we really need your support.

    To continue to fulfil our role in the supply chain we must guarantee to pay our drivers and suppliers promptly, and so we urge you to assist us by making timely payments within terms. Wherever possible we urge customers to make early payments.

    I’m sure you understand that in this climate we cannot allow extended credit terms under any circumstances.

  • Celebrating 25 Years!

    2019 sees us celebrating a fantastic 25 years with Delivered for two members of our team! Kevin Dillon (pictured left with Adam Barber) started in September 1994, while Ian Milne (right) has been with us since May of the same year. Congratulations to you both! And in a triple celebration, APC Overnight also turns 25 this year - a great success story for the network of which we were founder members. Must have been a good year for beginnings!

  • Delivered's Portsmouth Team Wins APC Depot of The Year

    Delivered's Portsmouth team are celebrating after being named APC's South East Depot of the Year 2019 at the prestigious network prize-giving ceremony. The award recognises the very best performers within the APC Network, with more than 100 depots competing nationwide. APC congratulated the depot, saying: "Delivered came out on top in the South East Region having provided excellent service levels to their customers and also to the rest of the APC network , whilst also continuing to grow their business."

  • PinPoint Tracking Gives ETA Info to Sender and Recipient

    Need to know when a delivery is due to your customer but don't want lots of auto emails? Our PinPoint system, with its 2-hour delivery window, is proving extremely useful as a quick check by logging in at the APC website. Already invaluable for recipients, it also offers a huge advantage to the sender, giving an instant answer without the need to ring and check the ETA. Information is updated in real time, and can be accessed simply by entering the consignment number and postcode.

  • New London Ultra Low Emission Zone

    The first phase of the ULEZ comes into force in April, affecting deliveries in the current Congestion Charging area. Vehicles entering specific postcodes will be required to pay an extra charge, which means that APC deliveries to those areas will be subject to a 75p surcharge. ULEZ zones are in force 24/7. Not all areas within the CC zone will be subject to the ULEZ, and you can check specific postcodes on the TFL site by clicking here. Please make sure to specify an entire postcode when you book your collection as part postcodes which fall within a ULEZ zone will be assumed to be chargeable by the APC system. Delivered billing will include this surcharge on orders from 1st May 2019.

  • 20 x Parcels Consignment Cap & Boxing Guidelines

    APC Overnight have introduced a cap of 20 parcels per consignment, and new guidelines about boxing parcels which are to be carried on their standard tariffs (both LightWeight and Standard Next Day). Details can be found on the updated APC Product Guide which you can download here, and will come into effect on April 1st 2019.   • New Economy Remote Pick-Up Service

    Many people find it extremely useful to be able to book a collection from their customers using APC's Remote Pick-Up service – with the choice of delivery to the company making the booking or to a third party. For less urgent consignments we are now pleased to offer an economy version of the service where you book today for collection tomorrow. Same-day Remote Pick-Up is still available except for some rural areas where the next-day pick-up will be standard. Your options will be shown at the time of booking and, as ever, don't hesitate to ask our team if you want to check particular service/destination options.

    Don't Send Aerosols by Air or Sea!

    Please remember that all aerosols – even household products such as deodorants – count as dangerous goods, which we cannot transport outside the UK mainland. APC HQ advises that if any dangerous goods are found by the authorities they can attract large fines (approx £150 per item) which unfortunately will be claimed back from the sender. We all want to avoid that!

    Expecting a delivery? Now you can check exactly where your parcel is with the new APC tracking facility PinPoint. Regular updates mean that the map will PinPoint the delivery driver's current stop, show how far away they are and give you an estimated delivery time. Just log in to the APC tracking page, enter your consignment number and delivery postcode and click to view the map. Tracking just got better with APC!

  • Wycombe Team Are Gung-Ho!

    An intrepid team of 7 from Delivered Wycombe challenged themselves to a 5k run in Windsor…. over giant inflatable obstacles! The Gung-Ho! events take place nationwide and are hugely popular, with more than 100,000 people taking part since launch in 2015. If you’d like to have a go, there are events running throughout the summer and our team recommend it as a fun day out and great team-building event! Everyone completed the course, and the team are already planning their next event.

  • New! Delivery Window Alert by Text or Email

    Now you can get a two-hour delivery window directly by text or email to you or your customer, via the new APC Expect service. The new system sends an auto-alert on the morning of delivery which can be configured to suit your needs – select which information you’d like to include from a simple date reminder to the timeslot, tracking number and supplier name. Delivery times are the most requested information from customers, so this new service will allow everyone to get on with their day, safe in the knowledge that they won’t miss their delivery!     Save time and money on non-urgent mail by giving it to us with your APC collection! A new service in partnership with Whistl, who handled nearly 4 billion items of mail last year, means you can put all your second class letters into an APC CourierPack - no need to stamp or frank - and we'll collect with your regular parcels. You can send up to 5kg in each CourierPack, from regular letters up to Large Letter A4 size. No posting, no charge for collection, and what's more, you'll save an average of 10% on postage costs.   • Passport to Success for International Delivery

    Do you need to deliver internationally? Looking for a simpler system and a better deal? We're delighted to announce that APC has partnered with Air Menzies International to offer you an integrated service that you can operate alongside your APC account. Just book online and your parcels will be collected with your normal UK deliveries.   • Delivered at Speed!

    Watch out for the Delivered logo at the European Le Mans Series races this year – we've teamed up with 360 Racing for the 2016 season! Based at Silverstone, 360 Racing's team includes star driver Ross Kaiser, who won the Radical European Masters for them last year. Starting at Silverstone in April, the ELMS season moved on to Imola, and the car will be seen in action at Red bull RIng in July, Le Castellet in August, Spa-Francorchamps in September and Estoril in October.

  • New Click & Collect Option with APC

    Here's a convenient new delivery option for your customers: just add the new "InPost" service to your APC booking screen and we'll deliver their goods to an automated locker for them to collect whenever it suits them. APC Overnight have partnered up with InPost, the world's largest operator of automated 24/7 parcel lockers, who have 1000 locker locations (rising to 1600 next year) conveniently sited across the UK in petrol stations, supermarkets and shops. It's a simple system to operate – you prepare the parcel as normal for us to collect, and your customer will get a unique locker-opening PIN via SMS once it's ready for them to pick up. There's no extra charge for the service. Many people aren't home during working hours to accept deliveries (and can't get them at work), so appreciate the flexibility to collect at their convenience rather than having to try to arrange redelivery.   • Delivered Wycombe Wins APC Award

    We're delighted to announce that Delivered's Wycombe depot won the prestigious South East Regional Depot of the Year 2015/16 award at the recent APC Overnight ceremony. The awards are judged on excellent performance and reflect the quality of service and on-time delivery achieved by the depot. Delivered Wycombe is one of our three APC Overnight depots, alongside Slough and Portsmouth. The depot processes approximately 3,000 APC parcels every day, despatching customers' goods to addresses nationwide, and delivering incoming parcels to businesses right across the HP postcode zone. 2016 sees the Wycombe depot celebrating its 10th year under Delivered's management, and it is very gratifying to see the development of the business and the hard work of the entire depot team recognised with this award.

  • Adam Barber Appointed as MD of Delivered Group

    We're pleased to announce that Adam Barber has been appointed Managing Director of Delivered UK. This appointment also sees Jon Barber, who founded the company more than 30 years ago, take up the position of Chairman, alongside his role as Chairman of the Board at APC Overnight. And congratulations too to Jamie Barker who becomes Group Sales Manager after 5 successful years with the company. Adam Barber has been the company's Sales Director for the past 15 years and has seen some significant changes in the company over this time. He says, "We've enjoyed steady growth since the year 2000, with a 12-fold increase in business and two additional depot locations. Our APC territory has expanded to cover postcodes in SL, UB, HP and PO, and we have created a robust pallet service with a fleet of vehicles based at our Reading depot. Alongside the pallet and haulage services, we now offer a total of 60,000 sq ft of warehousing space across our locations, with in-house fulfilment as required. But we place a high value on service and quality that are at the heart of our company, so we've made sure that these scaled up alongside our expansion."

  • Special Delivery for Our Best Friends

    One of the first customers we worked with at our APC Portsmouth depot, natural dog food specialist Wolf Tucker, has recently expanded to new premises near Chichester to keep up with demand for their DEFRA approved, high quality product. Customers order via the website or telephone and we deliver the frozen product through APC next day to delighted canines nationwide. There's a growing demand for an alternative to highly processed, chemical-laden dog food, with the recent scare over "mystery ingredients" leading more people to choose a natural product. Wolf Tucker's Mandy Maidment says "We created the diet for our own dogs originally, so we could be totally sure of the quality. We use 100% natural and nutritional raw meaty bones, fruit, vegetables and natural supplements, and our ingredients are human grade and sourced from DEFRA approved UK Farms. We would never use battery-farmed sources for any of our ingredients."   • 15-6-15 Electric Vans on Trial

    A fully electric vehicle joined the Delivered fleet working on the local Slough delivery circuit as part of a two week trial. The vehicle, which has zero emissions, can be charged overnight in our warehouse to give a range of 70 miles before needing a recharge. Delivered’s Operations Director Martin Cavendish says “As a company we are always researching the latest, greenest options to reduce the impact of our fleet on the environment, and we’ve been watching the development of electric vehicles closely for some time. The van is in many ways ideal – we’ve actually been getting nearly 90 miles between charges – although this model may be a little small for our needs as the drivers are having to return to the depot more often than in our regular vehicles. But it’s a very promising development and we are sure that this is the way to go in the future.”

  • Emma Raises Marathon Funds for Mencap

    We are very proud that Delivered's Emma Shawcross completed the London Marathon in 5 hours 34 mins last weekend, raising an impressive £750 for the charity Mencap's work with people with learning disability. Emma, who is a valued member of our Woodley-based pallet and haulage team, chose the charity for reasons very close to her heart. "Mencap is such an important organisation to me because they have provided so much support for my sister. Hannah has Down's Syndrome and without Mencap's support and range of activities she would not be as independent as she is now. They have also really helped with advice for my family on what services are available for Hannah to help her get the most out of life from day 1." Running a Marathon is a huge undertaking and, although Emma is a regular runner for general fitness, she didn't start training seriously until a couple of years ago. "I set myself the target of Reading half marathon in 2013 and London 2015. It gave me something to work towards." As well as her marathon training, Emma has also recently qualified as a Class 1 HGV driver meaning she can now drive articulated trucks - another great achievement!

  • Delivered Sponsor Woodley Town FC

    We're pleased to announce that Delivered has become a Club Sponsor for our local football club, the very active Woodley Town. Established in the community since 1904, the club currently provides football from 5-year-old "mini-kickers" through the ages to adult football, and works with local schools supporting inter school events and providing coaching sessions.

    The men’s first team compete in the Uhlsport Hellenic Football League Division One East at Step 6 of the FA’s National League System. This enabled the FA Vase, with the final played at Wembley, to be entered for the first time in 2014-15 and next season the club is looking forward to making its debut in the FA Cup.

    Next season is also an exciting one as the club will amalgamate with local neighbours Woodley Hammers FC and Woodley United Ladies FC and play under the Woodley United FC banner.  This will bring together around 1500 football 'stakeholders', including male and female players (of all ages in forty teams), coaches, managers, physios, club committee members, parents and supporters with the objective of offering everyone in the community the opportunity to play, develop and grow through football, regardless of race, gender, age or ability and in so doing provide “Community based football that is the envy of the footballing world”

    The project has already captured plenty of interest.  As well as articles in the local press, Club Chairman, Dave Pickup, was invited to speak about One Woodley on Radio Five Live's 'Football League' programme in December.  There has also been huge support from the FA, the local MP, Rob Wilson, and the Unitary and Town Councils.

    Delivered are delighted to be supporting the Club in such an exciting time in its long history, and look forward to the next developments.

  • Reading Depot Relocates to Larger Facility

    Delivered's Reading depot - the HQ of our Pallet and Logistics Services - relocated in the New Year to Woodley, just off the A329M with very easy access to the M4. As well as vastly increased warehousing and yard space, we are now nearer to our customer base and to London, shaving 30 miles off a round trip delivery to the capital with associated economic and environmental advantages. Once fully opened, the site will have 30,000sq ft of warehousing where we will be offering short or long term pallet storage and fulfilment services. Additionally there is a 27,000sq ft yard to accommodate our ever increasing fleet. We're currently undertaking a full refurbishment programme to the warehouse and expect the facility to be fully open by early April.   • APC Trebles MailPack & CourierPack Capacity, Ready for Christmas

    With seasonal volumes predicted to break all previous records, APC Overnight have vastly increased sortation capacity up to 20000 MailPacks and CourierPacks per hour, thanks to brand new machinery installed at the Hub. The new £6m "Sky Sorters" can handle nearly 3 times the volume of the existing system, and are designed to maximise efficiency at the busiest time of the year.
    APC Overnight specialises in the timed delivery of small and medium sized parcels and has taken the decision to refocus on this part of the market by no longer conveying bulky items such as furniture. If you have bulkier or heavier deliveries to make, Delivered can help through our pallet network and logistics services, which are designed for this type of consignment and so should attract keener pricing.

  • APC Overnight Named "Network of the Year"

    Delivered, with the network of APC Overnight depots nationwide, is celebrating success after APC was named as "Network of the Year" at the Motor Transport Awards 2013. These transport industry "Oscars" are awarded for outstanding performance, and the judges reported that the excellent teamwork by APC depots during the 2012 Olympics, keeping deliveries on track despite mass transport restrictions, was a significant factor in the network's win. Delivered MD Jon Barber – also a Board Member of APC Overnight – was delighted with the award: "“This is a great result and a fantastic endorsement of our pledge to provide the best possible overnight delivery service in the UK. We are part of a network of 115 local delivery companies throughout the country that work in partnership to ensure successful deliveries for local customers every day.”

  • Delivered Arrives in Portsmouth

    We are delighted to announce the opening of our new Portsmouth depot which will take care of overnight deliveries for the area’s businesses through APC Overnight.   • Delivered Wins Prestigious TPN Input Depot of the Year Award

    TV personality Quentin Wilson presented Delivered's Reading Depot with the trophy after we were named TPN's Input Depot of the Year at the Awards Dinner on Saturday 11th May. The Award – for which we were nominated by the staff at the TPN hub – is in recognition of the quality of freight and consistency of the service achieved by Depot Manager Paul Bailey and his team, as well as the steady growth in consignments over the year. We consistently made our allotted time at the hub, which allows the freight to move efficiently within the system. Paul underlined the importance of team working for a successful pallet operation: "Thanks for this goes to the staff here and our customers without whom we would not have won." Delivered MD Jon Barber was delighted with the Award: "I'd like to congratulate the whole team at Reading for a fantastic achievement - I am very proud of you all."

  • Delivered MD Elected to APC Board

    We're pleased to announce that Jon Barber, MD of Delivered, has been elected to the Board of Directors at APC Overnight. Delivered (under our previous brand Scarlet) was a founding shareholder of the APC network, so Jon has been part of the development of the company since its beginning nearly 20 years ago.     Delivered directors Jon and Adam Barber were the featured guests on Marlow FM 97.5's popular business-focused BizBuzz show on 20th March. Presenter Carla Delaney, well known locally as Business Editor at the Maidenhead Advertiser, was fascinated by the story of the company's journey from a modest same-day bike delivery service (as Scarlet Couriers) in the early 1980s, to the current multi-service, multi-depot operation that Delivered is today. Sales Director Adam Barber was keen to point out that despite the company's growth, the personal approach is central to the Delivered ethos - customers will always speak to a real person who will be familiar with their business. MD Jon described last year's rebrand and relaunch, and Delivered's development to the current focus on high quality nationwide delivery via APC Overnight and The Pallet Network, and integrated warehousing services. As well as details of the operational side of the business, listeners heard about Delivered's regular involvement in charity fundraisers, as well as local initiatives such as the annual Delivered calendar photographic competition - now in its 8th year - and 5-a-side matches against customer teams (although maybe we're not quite as good at football as we are at logistics!). Marlow FM's BizBuzz show is part of a full schedule broadcast on 97.5 from 7am to midnight every day, providing a range of programmes with a local slant which appeal to a wide audience.

  • Delivered Team Complete Professional Certification

    A team of Delivered HGV drivers successfully completed their Driver Certificates of Professional Competence this month, with everyone from our fleet due to complete the course by the end of April. This government initiative involves 35 hours of dedicated training, run by AA DriveTech, and is designed to promote and maintain the highest levels of skills for professional drivers. All UK truck, bus and coach drivers must gain their CPC before September 2014, so our team are well ahead of schedule. Delivered is pleased to support our drivers through this training - congratulations to you all for successful completion.

  • Professional Training Success for Depot Manager

    Congratulations to Delivered's Wycombe Depot Manager Dan Gilbert, who was presented with special recognition and the highest achievement award after he successfully completed a Dale Carnegie course in March. The 8-week Effective Communication and Human Relations/Skills For Success course is designed for team leaders, and is part of a professional programme by the globally respected business training organisation.

  • Record Overnight Deliveries

    A record amount of overnight deliveries in the last quarter of 2012 included more than 2500 turkeys from traditional turkey specialist Copas for the Christmas table. Our overnight system is run in partnership with APC Overnight, now the largest overnight network in the UK. The network specialises in timed deliveries, which are ideal for the safe delivery of fragile consignments and fresh produce.

    APC Overnight has been named as one of Britain’s top-performing private companies in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 listings. These companies, billed as “role models for others that want to pursue growth,” demonstrate that it is possible to grow profits even given the recent challenging economic backdrop, as performance was measured over the financial years 2008-11.   • Red Rocketeers Raise Over £2,000 for CF Trust

    Congratulations to our Red Rocketeers team for their fundraising cycle ride on one of the hottest days of the year. Despite temperatures averaging 30°, all of our team – Adam and Amanda Barber, Jamie Barker, Leanne Godsell, Dan Gilbert, Les Parsons and Mark Howl – completed the 47 mile course around the stunning scenery of the New Forest. Mark even cycled up the 1:4 Blissford Hill while the rest sensibly pushed their bikes! A combination of over £1,800 on our team page and individual donations brought the total raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust to more than £2,000.   • Delivered Brand Launched

    We're thrilled to announce that the relaunch and rebrand of Scarlet Couriers to Delivered is now complete. You'll start seeing our vehicles out on the road, and if you use our haulage, pallet and warehouse services your drivers will be wearing our new Delivered uniform. But rest assured that while we may look different, you'll be talking to the familiar team on the phones, and it'll still be Adam, Leanne, Jamie and Jon who pop in to see you! All your current log-in info should transfer seamlessly to the new site and your booking and tracking forms will be exactly the same (except for the name of course!). Delivered services focus on our partnerships with the best quality national networks – APC Overnight for your parcels and TPN for pallets – as well as our own fleet of haulage vehicles, international delivery and warehouse/fulfilment services.
